Just landed in Washington, DC...
Loved spending the last few days in my hometown of San Antonio where I spoke at a dinner raising scholarship funds for the kids of migrant workers. The organization is called CECLEF, the Cesar E. Chavez Legacy and Education Fund. What a great cause they serve.
It brought back memories of my own family's hard work in the cotton fields of South Texas, the cherry orchards of Michigan and the tomato fields of Ohio. It still blows me away to think that the kid who labored with his parents and sisters in that kind of back-breaking work...is now a network TV anchor and reporter. Is this a great country...or what?
